“Fantasy Storytelling Game ‘The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood’ Launches on PC and Nintendo Switch August 16th”
Deconstructeam has revealed that The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, their new game centered around divination, is set to release on August 16th. This narrative adventure, driven by player choices, will be accessible on both PC and Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, a recently released launch trailer provides a more detailed look at the game’s tarot deck building mechanics and impactful decision-making.
In The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, you take on the role of Fortuna, a witch imprisoned for 1000 years on a distant asteroid after predicting an unwanted doom. (You plug in her 200-year sentence, even though the game features plenty of pre-exile flashbacks.) Fortuna’s stay isn’t as lonely as you might expect, though: she’s accompanied by Ábramar, a god Fortuna has summoned to help her escape. and serve cold vengeance on an ally. You also get a surprising amount of visitors if someone is floating on a space rock in the middle of nowhere.
Following Deconstructeam’s Gods Will Be Watching and The Red Strings Club, its latest release expands the studio’s tendencies towards philosophical and narrative experiences in dystopian settings. Much of the gameplay revolves around the narrative forks you choose (primarily through dialogue trees) and the construction and deployment of tarot decks, which are intricately rendered in vivid pixel art. You can customize card backgrounds, symbols and supporting elements to create magical software that feels distinctly yours. (However, you can keep the deck creation process relatively simple if you prefer a more straightforward presentation.) “Cosmic Wheel is a visual novel at its core, with story paths dictated by player choices,” Jessica Conditt wrote in ReturnByte’s April preview. .
Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood will cost $18 when it launches on the 16th. August for Switch and PC. You can pre-order it on Steam and list it on GOG before it arrives. (Nintendo has yet to release its product catalog.)
